The Way of Salvation
Let's look at what Jesus said…
| And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto
them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross,
and follow me. (Mark 8:34) |
Jesus says that to follow Him, we have to take up our cross. The cross is a tool
of execution. The cross had only one purpose: to kill people! Jesus is saying
you have to give up your life. Again, Jesus said…
|
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life
for my sake, the same shall save it. (Luke 9:24) |
God is telling us that we have to give up on ourselves and our lives. Our life,
our current path, is bound for the lake of fire. We must be ready to give up on
ourselves, and throw our selves at the mercy of Jesus! In short, we must repent.
When God hears us sincerely "calling out" to Him – when we cry out that we are
unworthy sinners, that we are sick of our lives, that we desperately want Him to
save us-that is the kind of plea that God hears and honors with the free gift of
Salvation.
| For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans
10:13) ... Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved … (Acts 16:31) |
