Oprah Winfrey’s Heaven without Jesus

For many years Oprah Winfrey has warmed the hearts of tens of millions of viewers throughout the world with her television talk show aptly named The Oprah Winfrey Show. Over the years, the show has regularly presented fashion trends and beauty secrets, health and diet tips, food and home life, dating dos and don’ts, and often welcomes guest celebrities. But more recently, the show has taken a disturbing turn toward presenting more spiritual related content and new age ideas and philosophies like that of Marianne Williamson. Her book “A Course in Miracles” teaches that you do not need to have a personally relationship with Jesus Christ, rather you have the power for your own salvation once you realize it; your right-minded thinking is your salvation. The book is littered with phrases like "A slain Christ has no meaning", “Do not make the pathetic human error of clinging to the old rugged cross.”, "The Name of Jesus Christ as such is but a symbol", and "The Holy Spirit is nothing more than your own right mind."

On her television shows of late, Oprah also regularly promotes Eckhart Tolle’s bestselling book called A NEW EARTH - Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose. Even though Oprah claims to be a believer in Christ, she in her own words about the book says “it is one of the most important subjects, presented by one of the most important books of our time”. In reality, the book is nothing more than the same old New Age ideas in a pretty new package. It teaches the need for an “awakening” in one’s self, rather than repentance and salvation through Jesus Christ. That is purely pagan and contrary to the teaching in the bible. Oprah has taken matters a step further by teaming up with Williamson and Tolle to provide lessons and classes on these New Age ideas on her website “oprah.com”.

Oprah’s New Age beliefs were made clear on a particular show when she denied the teachings of the bible and Jesus Christ by expressing her religious belief that there are many roads to get to God other than Jesus. She stated “there couldn’t possibly be just one way” When asked by a woman in the audience, “What about Jesus?” Oprah answered by repeating the question, “What about Jesus?” Oprah continued by implying that even if you never heard the name Jesus but lived with a loving heart you could get to heaven. This shows her complete lack of understanding of the bible and gospel of Jesus Christ.

The danger is that millions of Oprah viewers will likely be deceived, through the teachings she promotes, into believing this New Age false gospel and will ultimately miss out on God’s plan for their salvation.

The bible in 2 Tim 4:3-4 says - For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

2 Peter 2:1 says - But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

Oprah is openly promoting a false gospel and will someday be held accountable. How many will share in her ultimate destruction and eternal suffering? Hell will no doubt be filled to the brim with those who foolishly listened to false teachings rather than rely on the truth of the Word of God.

You may have heard the saying “hell will be filled with believers”. Once they get there they will know the truth, but unfortunately, it will be too late. Oprah will someday know the truth and will for eternity deal with shame and humility and suffering for leading so many souls to a devils hell. Her greatest source of torment will likely come from those who chose to listen to her.

The bible in John 3:36 says - He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

It’s not too late for Oprah. It is not in God’s plan for her or any of her followers to spend eternity in hell. God’s plan is that all would accept the gift of salvation provided through His son Jesus Christ. Oprah can be forgiven only if she turns away from the lies and puts her trust on the one true saving grace that only Jesus Christ can provide.

Romans 6:23 says - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

I urge Christians everywhere to pray for Oprah and the millions that faithfully watch her television show, read her books, visit her website, and follow her false teachings and promotions.

They need to know the truth of Jesus Christ. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

Anything short of this is a lie that will lead to an eternity of destruction for those who choose not to believe the truth.
